This lovely wool (100% wool in a nice tweedy muted wine color - most of the pictures are too light) was given to me by a dear friend as a de-stashing action and I just couldn’t refuse to cast on.
Started with the sleeves using them as swatch (they are almost finished Aug/3).
I’ve been making cuffs with slits in a non-roll improvised knit/purl pattern.

I am improvising what it is going to be: after seeing Loppem by Nora Gaughan and DROPS jacket with short raglan sleeve I am attempting a cardigan loosely based on these.
At the moment I love yokes and raglans - we’ll see how it will come out…

August 20th:
Yesterday my Knitpicks needle arrived - I’m so happy - I had been using Addi bamboo needles, which were great a few projects ago. Meanwhile the tips are not what they were in the beginning. Also they slowed me down considerably. All the time I come back to metal needles - Knitpicks are my favorite for now :)

October 18th, finally finished - YAY! And I am quite happy with the outcome.
The sleeves were to short (despite trying on). I didn’t expect them to pull up so much when they are knitted this narrow. My mind is still with the wide and roomy sweaters from decades ago. So I took out a row, lengthened the sleeves and grafted the cuff back on. Next time I would make the yoke an inch or so longer in hight, this should take care of the problem and make for a roomier feeling on the underarm. At least I’ve got a sample now.
A few evenings went by with placing the embroidered embellishments and sewing in all the ends (oh, how I love cone yarns in contrast to 50 g balls). The embroidery was fun to do - I “freestyled” and had a hard time stopping.

The color came out too light in most pictures - the light of the fall sun makes for glaring and made me squint too.
