After I hurt my leg and had to put it up I had my hands free to cast on a few things (who's the knitter to resist such an opportunity?).
The first one was a test knit for Laris: Miss Sophie's Hands - pattern will be out soon. The first glove is done, the second in the making. I love Laris' design.

Needle / Nadeln : US 1 / 2.25 mm Yarn / Garn: Wollmeise Sockenwolle 100% superwash How much? / Wie viel? 1 skeins = 575.0 yards (525.8m)
Sorry, the colorway "Puderdöschen" turned into Yarnissima's Digitessa and is available only in the La Digitessa Kit.

The second project was Swallowtail, which I've been coveting for a few years now.

Meine Projektnotizen aus Ravelry: / My project notes from Ravelry: Needle US 6 / 4.0 mm Yarn Wollmeise Sockenwolle 100% superwash How much? 1 skeins = 575.0 yards (525.8m) Colorway Petit Poison Nr. 5 medium Color family Purple
Another project which I had in mind for a few years already.
I’ve read most of the notes the other knitters wrote on this and have decided to go with the 19 repeats of buds instead of the 14 which are stated in the original pattern. I’ll see how this will work out and if my yardage is enough. I’ve got a 161 g skein.
There are 5 g yarn left over. At the end I added another row 5 to make the points deeper and another row like the 7th too (still widening the rapport according to the original row 7 - don’t know if this makes sense), all the while deepening the points.
Now I need to block it - it looks small and crumpled in it’s unblocked stage. When I was almost done I even thought of ripping the whole thing, because usually I like really fine lace yarn. Then I went ahead and knitted on anyway because I wanted too see the end result. What I really do love is the color and the feel of the yarn while knitting it.
First time for my blocking wires - I love them! It makes blocking so much easier. Thank you lovely friend, who gave them to me!
Measurements: about 32” deep and 63” across - not as small as I thought after all…
Now on my needles: Ondulé, a cardigan by Anne Hanson. I saw her wearing it at the Spring Fling and was fascinated. If it will look as pretty on me and if I'll get the fit right remains to be seen...
The back and the left front are almost done. Meine Projektnotizen aus Ravelry: / My project notes taken from Ravelry: Needle US 3 / 3.25 mm Yarn Four Seasons Casa, pure wool Colorway overdyed Color family Blue-green Purchased at Wolle Hartmuth, Inh. Ute Gorgels in Würselen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Notes
When I saw the original Ondulé on Anne Hanson herself (Spring Fling at the Loopy Ewe in 2009) I knew I had to knit one for myself. I adore this jacket. I just love the details such as an understated pattern, the collar band using short rowing, the fit, the not pulling in rib pattern on the lower part and so on, even the color is great and made me think of my stash yarn. Now that summer is almost over I think I don’t need to cast on for a “summery” project.
The yarn for this has been in my stash for about two decades and was over dyed in 2003 using Ashford dyes - I don’t even remember the original color (sure I didn’t like it though). It had been commercial wool yarn in a solid color. Should be perfect for Ondulé. It is variegated but only subtly though.
July 14: swatching - and I will wash and block the swatch too - I promise! And a good thing I did! The swatch relaxed quite a bit, despite the wool being overdyed, heated, rinsed and so on beforehand. Swatch is drying now.
July 15: almost getting gauge, this should work! Did the cast on for the back.
July 18: Commencing armhole shaping on back
Now I'll get back to the needles before night shift rolls around...
